***Fencing Update***
Hello Quail Crossing Community!
I'm excited to provide an update on the upcoming fencing project, planned to begin this Monday, May 20th. This has been a significant, months-long endeavor, and we are thrilled to finally be ready to kick things off!
First and foremost, I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to Devin Lang, our Board Vice President. Devin has dedicated a tremendous amount of effort and personal time to this project, and without his active engagement and care for our community, we would not be where we are today. Thank you, Devin!
***Project Details***
The privacy fence along 9th Street, Deerwood, and Mountain View will be replaced—totaling 2,540 feet—with a new 6-foot privacy fence that matches the existing style. We kindly ask all homeowners along this fence line to clear any obstacles (rocks, earth, trees, bushes) from their side. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to me ([email protected]). To those who have already cleared obstacles, THANK YOU!
***Project Timeline***
If conditions are favorable, our contractor expects to replace 250-300 feet of fencing per day. The project will start on the section of Deerwood between Morning Dove and Prairie Hawk. From there, the team will move along 9th Street, working from west to east, then continue along Deerwood from Morning Dove northward, and finally complete Mountain View. The estimated timeline is:
9th Street: 3-4 days
Deerwood: 5-6 days
Mountain View: 1-2 days
The entire project should be completed within 2-3 weeks (assuming favorable conditions and no hiccups). Work is planned for Monday through Saturday and may include Memorial Day, depending on progress. The contractor has assured us that any fencing removed in the morning will be replaced the same day, ensuring yards are not left open overnight.
***Notifications and Staining***
Gray Fencing has already distributed flyers to some homeowners alerting them of the upcoming work. More flyers will be handed out next week.
Staining will tentatively begin the weekend of May 25th-26th. The initial staining will cover both sides of the fence to preserve the material. We know it can be frustrating not having full use of your backyard (especially with all the nice weather we have upcoming) and are trying our best to minimize disruption.
Staining the fence a natural finish was unanimously agreed to by community members at the last Board meeting. After consulting with the contractor and inspecting a stained fence in Ft. Collins, we believe this product offers a good balance between longevity and a natural look.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Warmly,
Brad Schernecker
