I wanted to share with you the number one rule for every wedding. Expect the unexpected and always have a plan B. There is no such thing as a perfect wedding but here are some things you can do to ensure your day is a memorable one. Remember perfection is probably your goal, but don’t get tied up in the little things (that will most likely catch you by surprise anyway) and remember that this day is about the memories created. Of course, you don't want major disruptions or distractions because of poor planning and preparation. On your wedding day, give yourself a good talking to and remind yourself what your wedding day is really all about.

Rehearsal: Rely on the expert. If you have a wedding planner, allow them to be in charge. If you don’t have a person designated to direct your wedding, rely on your wedding Officiant or wedding minister. I will guarantee you that they have successfully arranged a wedding ceremony or two.

Children: Children are precious in weddings and if you want them in yours, include them in a way that will not make them nervous or scared. Make sure that in selecting the children to participate in the ceremony that the child is capable of following simple directions and its personality is outgoing enough to be able to master the crowd with becoming a distraction to your wedding ceremony.

Candles: Candles can make or break a ceremony! Things to consider when using candles include the length of the vail, width of the isle, and mostly winds and breezes if you are planning a beach wedding or outdoor wedding ceremony.

Selecting a wedding minister or wedding officiant to perform a ceremony, should be a thought thru process, after all it is important to retain a Minister or Officiant with whom you feel comfortable and with whom you should be able to express the loving feelings you have for the person you are going to married.

You also need to make sure that you are hiring a professional. Here are few questions that you should ask the wedding minister or the wedding officiant during the selection interview.

Can we help create the ceremony?

Do you book more than one wedding a day? How many?

Who is your backup in the event you can’t attend?

What is your total fee? Do you charge extra to travel or file the marriage license?

Will you oversee our rehearsal, or do we need to bring in a coordinator?

And here are the answer that any member of the minister/officiant team at A & S Notary Officiant will give you during the interview.

We have been in the business of solemnizing Wedding Ceremonies since 2011, we love your input in creating the wedding ceremony. You know the wedding venue, you know the wedding guests, and most of all you know the person you are getting married to. Your insight is what helps us create a truly personal ceremony.

Our preference is to book one wedding ceremony per date, however there may be times that we do have a second wedding ceremony booked in the day. Rest assured that as professionals our attention is on the present task and we guarantee the upmost attention to all the details of your wedding ceremony.

Our team is composed of three ministers and officiants. We all work very closely together and while our style may be slightly different our professional standards are the same.

All our wedding ceremonies prices are transparent, no hidden fees. We do not charge extra for travel or the filing of the marriage license.

Our minister and officiant will be glad to coordinate the ceremony and oversee the rehearsal. As wedding ministers, we are all trained in a variety of wedding ceremonies from the most traditional to the most modern. Our team will gladly work with your wedding coordinator.

Do I need to get married in the County where the Marriage License was issued?

The answer to this question is very simple, it depends on the license.
The state of California offers two types of marriage license.
The public marriage license and confidential marriage license.
Both licenses can be purchased at any of the County Clerk offices, but there are a number of specially trained Notary Public's that are authorized to issue Confidential Marriage License to you in the comfort of your home.
In the case of the Confidential Marriage License, the wedding ceremony has to take place in the county where the license was issued. So if you plan on getting this license, make sure that your Wedding Venue is in the same County in which the license was issued.
If you are in Los Angeles County you are very lucky, as this County offers some of the best wedding venues in the world.
You may also want to take the Confidential Wedding License into consideration for it's convenience and privacy.
Convenience because you will need to deal with just one person from start to I do. Some wedding ministers and wedding officiants like me are authorize to issue a Confidential Marriage License in the comfort of your home, as well as marrying you to the location of your choice in the County the License was issued in.
Privacy: the records are sealed and your personal information is not made public. Having your information protected is peace of mind.
If you purchase a Public Wedding License from one of the California County Clerk offices, then you have no restriction and you can choose to get married anywhere in the State of California.

Wedding Tip of the Day: Prevent, Fight post-wedding blues by pre-planning some romantic dates for two or three weekends after you return from your honeymoon. Fun ideas include going out for dinner at a posh eatery, packing a picnic basket and going for a drive to a scenic spot, or planning surprise dates for each other. Knowing you have quality time together planned for the first month or two helps to keep that romantic magic going!

Security tip of the day.

Use variations on a strong "core" password
It's tough to remember a series of strong passwords and use a different one for each online system or site you access. The temptation is to use the same password for several or all systems and sites. That's a bad idea -- if a Bad Guy gets a hold of your password, he'll have the key that fits all of your doors. Instead, create a strong "core" password and then unique variations on it for each online system or site system you use. Here's a strong password: 5P0ky!3Z. It contains 8 characters, a mixture of uppercase and lowercase letters, at least one number and one non-alphanumeric character or symbol, and no personally identifiable information. By adding a character or two at the beginning or the end, you can have many variations to use for each system or site -- effectively creating a new strong password for each one. Remember to change your "core" password and its variations on a regular basis.
