The Long Beach Bar Association was founded by a small group of lawyers in the parlor of the Hotel Schuyler on February 3, 1917. Its mission was then, and continues to be today, to provide a welcoming, congenial, and stimulating home for attorneys, judges, and legal professionals in the City of Long Beach, our surrounding communities, and the greater Los Angeles area. The members of the Long Beach

Bar Association include over 400 attorneys, judges of the Los Angeles Superior Court, justices of the California Appellate Court, and other legal professionals from throughout the greater Long Beach area, including many cities in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Our members represent clients in all walks of life, across many professions, businesses, activities, and geographical areas. Our diversity and range of experience enhance our members' participation in the Association while at the same time allowing us to provide a broad range of services to the public.

The Long Beach area legal community won’t want to miss this Saturday’s "Advice from the Bench" a 3-hr CLE program hosted by the Long Beach Bar Association’s Family Law Section.

This bi-annual event offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from the bench on issues that matter to practitioners every day -- from navigating child support matters to maintaining professionalism and ethical excellence in the courtroom.

Highlights include:
⚖️ Commissioner Angela Villegas’ presentation on practical child support issues, including guideline deviations, income determination, arrears reduction, and AB 1058 proceedings.
⚖️ Judges Adrian Roxas, Kimberly Dotson, and Maria Puente-Porras leading an engaging discussion on Courtroom Decorum & Ethics, with insights from the judicial perspective and an interactive Q&A.

Attendees will earn:
✅ 1.5 hours of Ethics MCLE credit — a valuable opportunity to satisfy your ethics requirement while gaining practical guidance from the bench.
