Neal Goldstein - NY Personal Injury Attorney Helping injured New Yorkers get justice with compassion, clarity, and real connection. I’ve been helping injured New Yorkers for over 35 years. We’ll listen.

The truth is, the most important part of this work isn't just winning cases. It's showing up for people when they’re at their most vulnerable and treating them like more than just a file on a desk. I didn’t come from a perfect background. I built my life and my law firm through relationships, trust, and a belief that every client deserves to be seen, heard, and respected. That’s how we do things h

ere. If you’re hurt, overwhelmed, or unsure of your next step, my team and I are here to guide you through it. We’ll explain the process. And we’ll fight for what you deserve with compassion and clarity every step of the way. This isn’t just about legal advice. It’s about helping you feel human again.

I met and through mastermind group, and when he and his wife told me they were coming to the city they made it a point to reach out to see if Gina and me coumd meet up. We grabbed dinner, great food, even better conversation.

It always hits me how meaningful it is when someone comes to town and says, “Let’s get together.” I try to do the same, and when people do it with me, I’m always humbled.

Good people. Genuine connection. Nights like this remind me why relationships matter so much.

Always thinking about my next move ,work, family, health, finances, and of course… relationships.
Some days it feels like a lot. Other days, I actually enjoy the weight of it. Because this isn’t a chess game. This is real life, and every move counts.

Living with intent means being deliberate about how you treat people your family, your clients, your colleagues, the people you claim to care about. You can’t take those interactions for granted. You can’t sleepwalk through your life and call it strategy.

Just remember the way you treat people is the move that defines the whole game.

As authors ,especially those of us who aren’t household names we don’t always get to see the impact of our work.

But sometimes, a message arrives years later that reminds us why we write in the first place.

Three years ago, I gave someone my book Who’s in the Waiting Room. This week, they shared how it helped shape their relationships, their education, and their career path.

This is Lucille. She cared for my mom for 21 years. More than an aide, she was her best friend.

I met her when I was 16, at a time when my mom was battling MS and I was her caretaker. When Lucille came into our lives, she gave me something priceless—freedom to be a teenager, to go to school, to build a future, knowing my mom was in loving hands.

We’re still close today. And I’ll never stop being grateful.

As Justice Thurgood Marshall said:
“None of us got where we are solely by pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps. We got here because somebody… bent down and helped us pick up our boots.”

Other people are always part of your journey. Recognize them. Thank them.

This is Xavier Prescod .laflame We first met at one of the events in New York City and immediately connected. His story is powerful—the first in his family to step onto a college campus and then go all the way: law school, the bar, and now a seat at one of NYC’s top firms.

What struck me most is that Xavier blends old-school values with fresh ideas that are worth paying attention to. We spent time at the event, followed up online, and then decided to grab lunch together. And honestly—there’s no better way to get to know someone than by breaking bread. Doesn’t matter if it’s a fancy restaurant or a corner café, what matters is the face-to-face connection.

I have a feeling you’re going to be seeing a lot more of Xavier over the next few years.

Last week I had dinner with someone I hadn’t seen in 35 years.

Back when I was a young lawyer, Phill was a paralegal I worked with. Life took us in different directions, and we lost touch. By chance, we reconnected online—and finally made the effort to meet in person.

Three hours later, I was reminded why real, face-to-face conversations matter so much more than texts, emails, or likes.

Phill’s journey floored me:
✔️ Despite personal struggles, he went back to finish his undergrad in his 50s.
✔️ At 60, he enrolled at Hunter College for a master’s in social work—in person, sitting next to students in their early 20s.
✔️ And through it all, he never quit on himself.

The lesson? You never know where your journey will take you. And the real gift is listening to the resilience of others—their grit, their setbacks, their wins.

Here’s to Phill, who reminds us all: challenges don’t stop us; they equip us.

👉 And here’s a reminder to all of us: don’t just reconnect online—make the effort to meet people face-to-face. That’s where the magic happens.

Saturday throwback… the hat might not hold up, but the lesson does: stay real, stay authentic.

I might’ve been a little lost back then — like so many of us are at one point. But there’s always a way forward, always a light if you keep moving.

That’s been my edge as — and it’s what is all about.

Proud dad moment,my daughter rocking the That One Lawyer hoodie.

I’ve always believed it’s important to share with your kids what you do for a living. From tagging along to the office when they were little to taking on part-time jobs, it’s helped them understand not just what I do, but why I do it helping people in some of the toughest moments of their lives.

Funny enough, some of my best referrals have come from my kids telling their friends or colleagues, “My dad can help with that.” It’s a reminder that being present in your children’s lives doesn’t just shape them—it can also organically build connections for you in business.

Family first, always. And if you do it authentically, it just might grow your practice too.

Kindness is underrated as hell.

Everyone’s chasing “success,” but here’s the truth I’ve lived long enough to see: how you make people feel is what sticks. Not the money. Not the titles. Not the car.

This pup? Four months old. Lit up like a damn Christmas tree because someone took two minutes to scratch his belly. That’s it. No tricks. No treats. Just human connection.

And that’s the part we forget: People need the same damn thing. A little attention. A little presence. A little kindness.

Most people walk around with their guard up, exhausted, lonely, or pi**ed off—and they won’t say it. But that one genuine moment? It cuts through. It sticks. It matters.

I’ve always told my kids—kindness isn’t weakness. It’s power. And when you do it with zero agenda? People remember that forever.

Nobody gives a s**t where you live or what you drive. They remember how you made them feel.

So be kind. Not for show. Not for points. Just because that’s who the hell you are
