Preschool Teacher
Position Title: EXPERIENCED PRE-SCHOOL
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School diploma with 15 early childhood education units. preschool teacher permit preferred.
· Proof of immunizations: measles, pertussis, flu and TB, COVID
· Fingerprint clearance required.
· CPR certification required.
· Two years of teaching experience in preschool setting is required.
· Have an open outlook, positively approach each day, be energetic, warm, loving, and flexible with the children and school.
· Be a team member. Must have experience with curriculum planning.
SUMMARY:
The Pre-School Teacher is responsible for the children, classroom instruction and activities.
The Pre-School operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. We are closed on major holidays.
The Teacher will: work in harmony with the rest of the preschool staff, under the direction and on-site supervisor; exercise professionalism when working with students, parents, and co-workers; follow procedures and policies regarding employment as provided in the employee handbook.
FUNCTIONS:
Classroom
· Always supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children, being alert for the needs and problems of the group and individuals.
· Work with the planned curriculum in detail.
· Implement the daily program (with aide/assistant teacher where applicable).
· Decorate classroom with visual interest, including children’s artwork and instructional items.
· Prepare snack for the children and sit with them while they eat.
· Keep classroom and storage areas neat and orderly.
· Monitor restrooms.
· Supervise playground at all times.

Administration and Regulatory Policies
· Be familiar with all Pre-School policies.
· Keep On-Site Supervisor informed of program and supply needs.
· Report to On-Site Supervisor any special needs of individual children or families.
· Attend regular staff meetings and special school events.
· Promote and maintain positive working relationship with the parents and Co-Workers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Frequently get up and down from floor or chair to assist children.
· Kneel to child's level.
· Move quickly to assist child in emergency.
· Stand and move to different levels in the outside play area while watching children
at play.
· Lift infants/toddlers/preschoolers up to 40 pounds.
· Change clothing as needed due to bowel movement, urine and/or vomit.
· Access supplies and curriculum materials from high and low cupboards and shelves.
· This is not a sit-down job. You will be standing and moving around most of the time.
WORK HOURS/TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
· Full time position 9:00am-6:00pm, Monday-Friday; OR 8:30am - 5:30pm. One hour lunch break; two ten-minute breaks.
