The purpose of requiring a document be notarized is to verify the identity of the signer and to witness their signature! Please, please do not sign a document that needs a notary until the notary is present!

It has come to my attention that two (2) of our local (Logansport area) Notaries Public have recently resigned their commissions or are no longer notarizing for the public. This is just a reminder that I am available most days between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to take care of your notatorial needs. Other times are available for extenuating circumstances. FYI: The State of LA requires a notary to witness the SELLER'S signature on either the title or a Bill of Sale!

Or two witnesses must witnesses, one of whom needs to appear before the notary! Please do NOT ask me to notarize a pre-signed title! Thanks
