Prior to joining Cole, Newton & Duran, Chris was an attorney at Strobl & Sharp located in Bloomfield Hills focusing on taxation, business planning, and estate planning / administration. Tax Season is also Phishing Season!

Anyone with an email account can be subject to a "Phishing Attack." Phishing is a very common type of cyber attack that happens when a scammer sends a recipient an email that appears to come from a known sender or trusted organization, but is really an attempt to obtain personal, sensitive, or financial data. The email may directly ask the recipient to provide data such as social security or account numbers or to click a link in the email.

Cole, Newton & Duran CPAs will never send you an email asking you for personal information or requiring you to click on a link to confirm personal information.
