Following a three day trial, today we obtained a TWO WORD jury verdict for a client who was facing a sentence of 25 years to LIFE. This case serves as a good reminder that just because a person has made prior mistakes or bad choices, they should not be judged by their past. The case was well presented by the prosecution and defense. The evidence simply was not there to support a guilty verdict. A sincere shout out to the jury for taking their oath seriously and making a fair decision based on the law and the evidence, and to District Judge Delinda Gibbs-Walker for allowing the attorneys to try their case while at the same time maintaining fairness and the rule of law in her courtroom.

In response to the online discussion regarding the charges pending against Officer Tito Reyes, this office will be representing Officer Reyes in this matter. I would simply caution everyone against speculating or rushing to any judgment or conclusion without knowing all the facts. Experience has shown that in circumstances such as this, there are inevitably two sides to every story. Officer Reyes has every confidence in the judicial process and, if the case goes forward, will look forward to having his day in court.
