This past week, Steele got to spend a couple of his last days before heading back to school in the courtroom with Dad.

I don’t know if watching me in action will inspire him to become a lawyer one day, but I’m glad he got the chance to see what Dad does and experience a little bit of the courtroom firsthand.

Maybe one day I’ll be sitting across the courtroom from him. 😉 Either way, I’m pretty proud of my little courtroom sidekick.

Another week in the books—and another week filled with courtrooms, long drives, hard work, and, most importantly, progress for my clients.

This week took me all over Arkansas:

Saline County: An all-day custody hearing where my client successfully maintained primary custody of her child.

Fulton County: A long trip north that ended with my client avoiding jail time on a DWI case.

Pulaski County: My client was given the opportunity to keep a conviction off his record as long as he stays out of trouble for the next six months.

Faulkner County: We wrapped up the week with a hearing that resulted in my client getting visits with his child again following the temporary hearing.

Every case is different. Every client has a different story. But the goal is always the same: fight for the best possible outcome and never stop moving forward.

Proud of the work we put in this week, grateful for the trust my clients place in me, and ready to do it all again this week.

Ending the week by helping a client stay where he belongs—at home with his family.

After the client was accused of violating probation based on a new charge, the State sought to move forward on the revocation. We successfully argued that an additional bond was unnecessary, and the Court allowed him to remain out of custody while his case continues.

Every hearing matters. Every argument matters. And every client deserves an advocate who will fight for the best possible outcome.

Three hearings. Three different courts. One mission.

Today I appeared in three different courtrooms in a single day, representing clients facing some of the most important moments of their lives.

⚖️ Pulaski County Circuit Court – Helped a client obtain the divorce she needed to close a difficult chapter and begin a new one.

⚖️ Pulaski County Juvenile Court – Protected a client from a proposed increase in child support, preserving the financial stability he had worked hard to maintain.

⚖️ Faulkner County Circuit Court – In a contested custody modification, the parties agreed to appoint an Attorney Ad Litem to independently investigate the facts and provide the Court with a recommendation centered on the child’s best interests.

Family law is about far more than court filings and legal arguments. It’s about protecting children, preserving relationships, and helping people move forward when life takes an unexpected turn.

Whether we’re negotiating a resolution or advocating in the courtroom, our commitment is the same: to stand beside our clients, fight for what matters most, and never lose sight of the families we serve.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to practice in several courthouses across Arkansas, each case serving as a reminder of why I enjoy what I do.

🏛️ Saline County – We finalized a stepparent adoption, completing a family and giving a young man the father he had always deserved.

🏛️ Van Buren County – We helped reunite two young boys with their parents after successfully obtaining custody for my clients.

🏛️ Conway County – We negotiated a probation agreement for a client facing the possibility of significant prison time, helping them avoid incarceration and move forward with a second chance.

🏛️ Faulkner County (not quite as historic as the others!) – We successfully defended against an ex parte order of protection, ensuring my client’s side of the story was heard and the evidence received the careful consideration it deserved.

No two cases are ever the same, but each one represents an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. I’m grateful for the trust my clients place in me and look forward to continuing to serve individuals and families across Arkansas.

One of the most rewarding experiences as a lawyer so far was helping complete a family by assisting with a step parent adoption. Our judge was great as well!

Although schools are out for summer, the court schedule remained active in Faulkner County. We successfully dismissed an order of protection in Circuit Court this morning for my client and concluded a plea deal in Conway District Court this afternoon. I enjoyed letting these future lawyers see what dad gets to do from time to time. Special thanks to one of our DZN summer law clerks for tagging along today as well.

Every week means another Arkansas county visited. Whether its having a no contact order lifted, defeating a wrongfully wrote traffic ticket, or assisting with an adoption, I am blessed with each opportunity I get to go advocate for the citizens across this state.

For anyone who hasn’t had the pleasure of meeting Joe Denton, he is one of the hardest working and humble attorneys I know!

While most people are taking the week off to enjoy Spring Break, DZN’s own Joe Denton has been in a multiple day jury trial related to an assault that took place in St. Francis County, Arkansas. The Defendant counter sued our client for assault after our assault lawsuit was filed and took the jury an hour of deliberation to award our client $115,000 in damages and award $0 to the Defendant.

Made an appearance today at the Pulaski County Circuit Court House where I got to revisit the Honorable Leon Johnson's Court Room. My client and I walked out with a result that he is satisfied with. Of course we had to take a picture with Count Pulaski himself.
