Gill Ragon Owen, P.A. is pleased to share that attorney Jason Campbell was recently featured in the June 8 edition of Arkansas Business for his insight on the landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Montgomery v. Caribe Transport II, LLC (May 14, 2026). The Court's unanimous 9-0 decision — authored by Justice Amy Coney Barrett — held that negligent-hiring claims against transportation brokers are not preempted by the Federal Aviation Administration Authorization Act, effectively ending the broad liability shield that brokerage companies had relied upon for decades. Based upon his years of experience defending clients in the transportation industry, Jason offered practical perspective on what the ruling means for brokers, carriers, and shippers going forward — including heightened carrier scrutiny, increased audit activity, and the broader implications for freight rates and insurance costs across the industry. Congratulations to Dylan Potts, Jason J. Campbell, Aaron M. Heffington, and Mitchell Dennis for being named to Mid-South Super Lawyers and Rising Stars 2026!

Dylan Potts for Employment & Labor and Jason Campbell for Civil Litigation: Defense were named to the 2026 Mid-South Super Lawyers list. Mitchell Dennis for Business Litigation and Aaron Heffington for Business Litigation were named to the 2026 Mid-South Rising Stars list.

The Super Lawyers list names only 5% of attorneys in each state, and the Rising Star list names only 2.5% of attorneys in each state. The compilation process includes peer nominations, independent research, and peer evaluations.

Desi Gipson, Carolyn Owen, Hannah Howard, Anna Catherine Cargile, Trisha McKibben, Kim Wilson, Haley Stiger, Earnestine Brumfield, Arlee Walker, Vickie Stewart and Gwen Finley grabbed dinner at La Hacienda, then Rachel Hiller and Meredith Overton joined us at the theater to watch The Devil Wears Prada 2.

We had a great time connecting outside of the office.
