About Me

Melissa Kennedy began her real estate career as a young girl tagging along on appointments with her mother, Donna Hanson Merriman, who was a top-producing real estate agent in Central Arkansas for nearly 30 years. She was quite literally raised in the real estate business and has naturally developed a passion for helping both buyers and sellers have a positive and stress-free experience with buying or selling a home. Melissa believes in building lifelong friendships with her clients and taking care of their real estate needs well beyond the duration of the transaction. Melissa was born and raised in Central Arkansas. She graduated from Mills University Studies High School in Little Rock and then went on to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts with concentrations in Psychology, Sociology, and Health Science from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She then continued her education by studying real estate at the National School of Real Estate. Melissa originally obtained her real estate license in 2006 and worked as a full time Realtor until her oldest son was born in 2008. She then took time off from real estate to pursue motherhood and also worked as a preschool teacher for a number of years before finding herself being pulled back to her roots when an opportunity to work as an Executive Assistant to a fellow Keller Williams agent presented itself in January of 2019. Melissa had no trouble picking right back up where she had left off and it was then that she realized how much she had truly missed working in the real estate business. Melissa helped to close over $7M in sale volume in 2019 and in March of 2020 decided to reactivate her real estate license. Melissa's prior years of real estate sales experience coupled with her experience working in marketing and real estate transaction coordination has prepared her well to represent her clients with experience and professionalism. Melissa lives in Maumelle with her husband of 15 years and their two children, along with two dogs and two guinea pigs.
