Medicaid is one of the most misunderstood parts of planning for long-term care. 👇

A lot of people assume it works like Medicare, that once you reach a certain age, you're simply entitled to it. You're not.
Medicaid is a needs-based program. To qualify for long-term care coverage in New Jersey, you have to meet strict financial limits and clinical criteria, and the state reviews the past five years of your finances (the "look-back"). It's genuinely complicated, especially here in NJ.

The good news? Understanding the rules early is exactly how families protect what they've worked for. That's what we're here to help with.

Only about 1 in 4 American adults has a will, and even fewer have the other documents that decide how a hard season goes for their family.

The cruel timing of planning is that the moment you need these is often the moment it's too late to make them. A power of attorney signed after someone loses capacity isn't worth the paper, and without one, your family may have to go to court just to make decisions for you.

The good news? Putting them in place is easier than people think, usually one focused conversation. Swipe through, save it, and send it to the person who needs to see it.
