Success is definitely not a straight line. There have been highs, lows, challenges, growth, lessons, and plenty of moments that tested us — but here we are, 13 years later, still fighting for personal injury clients all across Georgia.

I could never have built this firm alone. I am incredibly grateful for the amazing team that shows up every day, cares about our clients, and believes in what we do.

Thirteen years ago, this law firm started as a dream. Today, it is a team, a mission, and something I am incredibly proud of.

This story hit close to home.

Just this week, my own daughter underwent extensive dental reconstruction under general anesthesia. The procedure required nasal intubation so the surgeon could safely work inside her mouth.

What many parents don’t know is that a well-known pediatric dentist initially wanted to perform my daughter’s procedure outside of a hospital. I wasn’t comfortable with that decision, so I sought another opinion. I chose to have her procedure performed at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta under the care of Dr. Trotter, where pediatric anesthesiologists, emergency physicians, ICU resources, and an experienced operating room team were immediately available if anything unexpected happened.

As a personal injury attorney, I have learned that even procedures labeled as “routine” deserve thoughtful questions. Whether it’s called sedation or general anesthesia, don’t be afraid to ask:

• Who is administering the anesthesia?
• What are their credentials?
• Where will the procedure take place?
• What emergency equipment and personnel are immediately available?
• If my child stops breathing or has a complication, what is the emergency plan?

Asking questions doesn’t make you a difficult parent—it makes you an informed advocate for your child. Trust your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, getting a second opinion is always reasonable.

My heart breaks for this little girl’s family.
