“Fall” in Central Texas might still mean 80-degree afternoons, but cooler weather will eventually show up! 😄 Before that first surprise cold front arrives, October is a great time to give your home a quick seasonal checkup.

A few things worth adding to your weekend list:

🍂 Clean out gutters and check downspouts
🔥 Test your heater before you actually need it
💨 Replace your HVAC filter
🚿 Check outdoor faucets, hoses & exposed plumbing
🏠 Take a quick look at your roof for damage or debris
🚨 Test smoke & carbon monoxide detectors
🌳 Trim branches that are getting a little too close to the house or roof

A little preventative maintenance now can save you from a much bigger headache later—and it’s always a good idea to take care of the place you call home. ❤️

A few things pet owners may want to keep in mind while house hunting:

🏡 Yard size & fencing: Is there enough room to run and play? Is the yard already securely fenced, or would you need to add one?

🐾 Pet-friendly flooring: Muddy paws, shedding, scratches, and the occasional accident are all part of life with pets. Some flooring is much easier to live with than others!

🌳 Neighborhood walkability: Sidewalks, trails, parks, and nearby green space can make those daily walks much more enjoyable.

📋 HOA restrictions: Before falling in love with a neighborhood, check for any rules regarding pets, fencing, breeds, sizes, or the number of animals allowed.

❤️ Their everyday routine: Where will the dog beds go? Is there an easy way to get outside? Is there room for food bowls, crates, litter boxes, or the giant basket of toys they somehow keep accumulating? 😂
