👟 Kicks for Kids: Summer Shoe Drive for Sandersville Elementary! 👟
As a local Realtor and a resident here in Lexington, my business is built on supporting the neighborhoods we call home. Today, I'm stepping up to lead an initiative for some of our youngest neighbors, and I could use your help.
I recently reached out to Damon Sexton, the Family Resource Center Coordinator over at Sandersville Elementary, to see how we could get a head start on supporting local students for the upcoming school year. What he shared was a massive wake-up call.
Right now, our local Family Resource Centers have a $0 operational budget for this coming school year, meaning they have zero funding to provide basic necessity items like shoes to kids in need. Last year, Damon had to find and hand out 58 pairs of shoes out of pocket or through donations. He regularly has students showing up with no soles left on their shoes, wearing sizes way too small, or even arriving at school with no shoes at all.
While summer break just started and the first day of school is still a couple of months away, I am launching the "Kicks for Kids" summer shoe drive so we can completely clear Sandersville's wishlist before the August rush.
📋 What Is Needed:
The Right Style: Tennis shoes with laces are ideal. Kids need athletic footwear so they can safely participate in gym class and run around at recess!
Highest-Priority Sizes: Sizes 3 to 5 (3rd & 4th graders), sizes 6 & 7 (5th graders), and sizes 10.5 to 12 (toddlers/little kids).
Gently Used is Awesome: Clean, gently used laced tennis shoes your kids outgrew this summer are completely accepted!
🛒 How You Can Participate:
Buy New via Amazon: I’ve set up a secure Amazon Wishlist tied directly to the school's exact inventory needs. Click, purchase, and they ship directly to my office to be sorted.

Donate Gently Used (Free Porch Pickup): If you are doing some summer closet cleaning, you don't even have to leave your house. Just send my page a message or comment below with your address. Leave them on your porch this weekend, and I will personally swing by and grab them!
Let’s ensure every single child at Sandersville walks into school this fall feeling confident, valued, and ready to learn.
Thank you for partnering with me to support our local schools!
