**The Renewal - Burn, plant and fertilize**

For 7 years 5 months, I quietly served as a part-time Municipal Court Judge at the City of Mauldin. My only desire was to serve with dignity and integrity; while treating those before me with dignity and respect. Those that deserved a lenient ruling received it. Those that deserved the hammer received it. Both were always treated with respect. (See attached letter). I walk away today having resigned knowing I made a difference the right way. I didn't complain about the house being on fire from the outside... I entered the house with a hose to extinguish the flames from the inside while sitting at the table. It has been an honor to serve the citizens of the City of Mauldin. I am forever grateful. My headstone can now saw Former Judge.

As I close this door and open new doors... I would be remise not to encourage others to chase their dreams despite their circumstances, former mistakes, family ties or background. Who would have ever guessed that little ole me that was raised in the backwoods of South Carolina (Who said "Nothing good ever comes out of Carlisle?"), didn't grow up with a "silver spoon" and was a walking statistic would ever ascend to the bench? Me... I am who thought these things were possible... Along with those in my family and community who believed in me despite the odds. Folks... It's never too late or impossible to achieve your most outlandish dreams. Just shoot for the stars... If you land on the moon... That's still a nice destination.

As I move forward with a shift in focus and "renewal", please know that I'm shooting for the "stars", taking chances and pressing the gas pedal to the floor. Time waits for no one... Therefore, I'm reclaiming and maximizing my time left here on earth... After being muted and limited for 7+ years, I can now concentrate on being an advocate for the voiceless, take up community causes and/or issues publicly, venture back into politics and build a law firm of regional influence. In other words, I'm shooting for the 🌟 s.

**Minister of Justice**

A photo after a murder conviction as a young prosecutor (2009)... Office award *Hammer of Justice* in hand...
That very same week... I pled a 3rd offense distribution drug dealer to a probationary sentence... He begged a year earlier that I didn't lock him up for a minimum of 10 years - 30 years max in SCDC... Said he had dreams, a wife and children... Just fell short and got lost...

So, I made a controversial decision and had him come to the office every week for one full year (52 weeks) to check-in, drug free, and without additional arrests...
He fulfilled his obligations... I took a chance and pled him to probation... He earned my generosity. He is now the Founder/CEO of a multi-million construction company that he started as I was about to place him behind the walls of SCDC... He calls to check on me consistently and thank me for giving him a chance... Hasn't been arrested since 2008... He sent me my third client after I opened my office in 2012... (my true swan song)

Everyone makes bad decisions and horrible mistakes... We are all responsible for our actions yet redeemable... Some just need a chance to redeem ourselves...

Ask the guy in the picture.. a bunch of people took a chance on him... The epitome of a walking statistic, but refused to be cornered... Forever grateful to those that never turned their backs and believed in me...🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽 (stay tuned on Monday).

**Chapter 44 - The Renewal**

As I've crossed the threshold of another year of life... I'm reminded of how special each of you are to me. I thank you for thinking of me on this day and every day before. Although, I'll be working until late tonight... Please know that I will be reading each of your texts, inboxes, posts and listening to voicemails. I. AM. FOREVER. GRATEFUL.

As I have closed the door on year 43... Many opportunity doors have presented themselves that I am excited to announce over the next few weeks. Please continue to keep me in your prayers and ask the good Lord to provide cover... As always, I'm here if you ever need me... I'm just a call away.

***Passion & Purpose***

FYI: I'm not intentionally ignoring anyone...

Horry County, Richland County, Union County, Newberry County, Lexington County,... The last three days...

Spartanburg County, Chester County, Cherokee County and Federal Court the next two days...

In bed by 9:00 pm... Awake by 2:30 am... At the office by 4:30 am...

I'm not complaining at all... I prayed for the opportunity to serve others. Just hold tight. I'm coming... Your boy is just a little tired by the time I make it home at night... Be patient.

...with the good comes the bad...
1st jury trial loss in YEARS (approximately 7 if I remember correctly)...
I shed my first tear in court today... Not because I lost... But, Because, I truly believed my client was innocent. Prayed for and with my client, had heart-to-heart talks that revealed so much below the surface, and I was the only one standing with him when there was no one else to lean on...
I wish I could have done more😢, but I can't change the evidence and must respect the jury's decision. We fought like h*LL though! I promised him that if we go down we would go down with "guns blazing."
Client: "Thank you, Mr. Mobley. You kept your promise. You fought for me."
