Congratulations to Grady for being selected as a 'Rising Star' by Super Lawyers again for 2022!

Grady has been named to the list every year since 2018.

The Super Lawyers list recognizes no more than 5 percent of attorneys in each state. The Rising Stars list recognizes no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in each state. To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less.

Congratulations to Grady on being nominated by his peers and elected to the West Virginia State Bar Board of Governors!

The Ford Law Firm has a long history of leadership in the State Bar, with managing member Richard E. Ford, Jr., serving on the Board of Governors and serving as President of the Bar from 1996-1997, and the late Richard E. Ford, Sr., serving as President from 1978-1979.

Congress is likely to pass legislation refilling the Payment Protection Program (‘PPP’) with another $300 billion tomorrow (April 23).

The program allows small businesses to apply for and obtain forgivable loans in the amount of 2.5 times your monthly payroll. Certain benchmarks must be met for the loan to be forgiven.

Many small business owners are not aware that the PPP can utilize the program to help cover their ‘wages’ in many circumstances, even if the owner takes a draw rather than being on the ‘payroll’ in the traditional sense.

The rollout of the program was especially bumpy, but the SBA and banks now have systems in place.

The local banks and their commercial bankers have gone above and beyond to help make sure small businesses in the Greenbrier Valley.

If your business has been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 Crisis, make sure your local banker has your application and all your information and supporting documents right away.

Now that the banks know how the program works, count on the new funds to be depleted more quickly than the first round.
