You have to celebrate the small wins because this mission can be bittersweet at times.

Recently, we had to part ways with a long-term tenant after discovering they had not been honest with us for quite some time.

Unfortunately, the condition of the home required us to temporarily decommission it for nearly TWO Months so we could restore it to the standard we take pride in providing.

Thankfully, my team worked their magic once again. We were able to market the property and secure a new tenant in LESS THAN A WEEK :)! The 2nd Chance Family moves in TODAY!!!

While it was difficult losing a long-term tenant, we’re grateful for the opportunity to give another family in need a 2nd Chance and a fresh start.

One lesson this experience reinforced for us is that protecting your standards and your peace will always matter more than holding onto history. Sometimes endings create space for better opportunities, stronger boundaries, and new beginnings for everyone involved.

Renovation Project-Before and After

Handicap Accessible Rental-Used for: 1) Disabled Veterans. 2) Alcohol Recovery Veterans. 3) Traveling Professionals/Nurses/Doctors/Students. 4) Airbnb.

A reentry tenant is currently residing there with his daughter, for whom he recently obtained custody. We assisted him in securing funding and transitioned him to weekly payments to help ensure he remains current and financially stable.

Prioritizing and compartmentalizing is always key.

As we all know, life happens no matter what plans you make. Last week was especially busy — my hubby’s birthday was on May 20th, and our daughter turned 3 May 21st.

At the same time, we were dealing with a racist tenant/police/our attorney involvement, moving a traveling professional from one home to another (2 stories for another time), preparing another home for a 2nd Chance family in need move in on 1 Jun, continuing this renovation for another 2nd Chance family, and working with multiple second-chance tenants who needed rent extensions.

Despite all of that, we were determined to celebrate/camp on our land — and we did, rain, shine, cool weather and all.

Sometimes life pulls you in every direction at once, but moments with family matter/grounds us. The work will always be there, the problems will always need solving, but making time for the people you love is priceless.

A little fun and a small recharge was exactly what we needed to prepare for the problem-solving week ahead. Family will always be our priority. ❤️

Today we honor and remember the brave men and women (some who I served with) who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness paved the way for the freedoms and opportunities we have today.

We also recognize the many diverse heroes who served with honor, often overcoming barriers while fighting for a nation they deeply believed in.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it’s a time to reflect, show gratitude, and remember the heroes who never made it home. Keeping their families, loved ones, and fellow service members in our hearts today.

May we never forget their courage, sacrifice, and legacy. 🇺🇸

Happy Birthday to the best husband and daddy ever ❤️🎉

Thank you for being the calm in our chaos, the fixer of all things, the maker of dad jokes, and the human jungle gym our daughter never seems to get tired of 😂

Watching you be a father makes me fall in love with you even more every single day. The way you love us, take care of us, make us laugh, and somehow still put up with both of our moods deserves an award honestly.

Our daughter thinks you hung the moon, and I think she might be right.

Life with you is my favorite adventure — even the messy, loud, exhausting parts — because we get to do it together. You make our little family feel safe, happy, and so deeply loved.

We hope today reminds you how special you are to both of us. You deserve all the love, all the cake, and at least one nap without being climbed on 😘
