Did you know there are property tax relief programs for seniors and disabled homeowners? 👀

I recently had a client who qualified for this program and had absolutely no idea it existed, so I wanted to share because the savings can be HUGE for those who qualify.

In counties like Loudoun County, Fairfax County, and Prince William County, qualifying elderly or disabled residents may receive relief on:

🏡 Real estate taxes
🚗 Personal property tax on one vehicle
📝 Vehicle registration/license fees

Generally, you must:
(please check with your local county to see what their requirements are)

✔️ Be 65+ OR permanently disabled
✔️ Live in the home as your primary residence
✔️ Meet certain income and asset requirements

With property assessments continuing to rise in Northern Virginia, this can make a major difference financially for many families.

Sometimes the biggest savings opportunities are programs people simply never knew existed. Sharing this in case it helps someone you know ❤️

June snuck up on me this year! Honestly, all through May I kept forgetting what day it was (was it just me?), and somehow here we are already into June… and I’m even a day late welcoming June. 😂


🎓 Life Lately
Life is FULL over here right now.

• At least 5 graduation parties
• Hosting Hannah’s graduation party with her friends
• 11 family members visiting during graduation week
• 7-on-7 football games for Matthew

Let’s just say… we may need a vacation soon, although we currently have absolutely nothing planned.


🏡 Work Life
Busy in the best way!

• Two settlements this month
• Helped get another home rented out
• Working with several buyers to help them find the right home

It’s been a busy season, and I’m incredibly grateful for the trust so many families continue to place in me.


📈 Local Real Estate Market Update
Northern Virginia real estate continues to be interesting this year.

• Mortgage rates are still hovering in the mid-6% range
• Buyers have a few more options as inventory improves
• Loudoun County home values remain ssteady
• Homes need to hit all the marks to sell quickly and for top dollar

One thing I’ve definitely noticed: buyers are becoming much more thoughtful and strategic. The “throw an offer at everything” energy has slowed, but serious buyers are still absolutely out there, especially for homes that are updated, well-maintained, and marketed/priced correctly.

I hope your summer is off to a great start to, whether it’s packed with activities, travel plans, or simply slowing down a little and enjoying the longer days.

Happy May! 🌸

How was April for you? It flew by over here! I celebrated my 47th birthday…still holding on to those 40s!😉

We’re also in full planning mode for my daughter’s graduation, with a big party and lots of family coming into town in June!
