Krieger & Tillinger is looking for an experienced (at least 5 years) family law legal assistant for our family division. Office is in the Clear Lake area, and we practice primarily in Galveston County, Texas.

We have a very heavy caseload to manage, currently with around 150-180 cases, with the alphabet split between two teams consisting of one paralegal and one legal assistant each. There will be minimal drafting involved – attorney drafts 85% of pleadings and orders. However, the rest is A LOT, including discovery. Accuracy and efficiency are of utmost importance. Scheduling, calendaring, prepping files for hearings/trials/mediations, and more.

We use WordPerfect, FormBuilder (similar to ProDoc), Outlook, and Excel.

I am demanding and picky, and not always “nice”. This job is not for the faint of heart (fn1), and if you oversell yourself, we will not get along well. But I do have a great team right now, so there is a bit of a safe space. Salary is competitive, depending on experience.

Krieger & Tillinger is excited to announce that Attorney Kindel Jenkins has earned the title of Partner with the firm, effective July 1, 2021.

Kindel has been licensed since 2012, and has been with the firm since 2016, first as Krieger & Ongert, and then as Krieger & Tillinger.

Despite knowing her passion was family law since the age of 11, Kindel joined the firm with experience in many areas of law including personal injury law, probate and guardianship law, commercial and civil litigation, tax credits and incentive law and family law.

Prior to joining us, Kindel served as the Managing Attorney of the Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County, devoting her practice to assisting victims of family violence and sexual assault.

Since joining the firm, Kindel has represented clients in all areas of family law including divorce, custody and child support modification, paternity, enforcement, grandparent rights and access and adoption.

We are so very proud of Kindel, and are honored to have her as part of the team!

Custody and visitation are unchanged by any shelter-in-place or stay-at-home order.

Refusal to comply with your existing court order may result in your being held in contempt (which can possibly include fines, attorney’s fees, and even jail time).
