Mark Dupree is STILL PROTECTING this killer with a badge. Why? 🚨

Former Kansas City, Kansas, detective Roger Golubski was found dead of an apparent su***de at his home on December 2, 2024, the exact day his federal trial was scheduled to begin. He had been facing six felony counts of civil rights violations for allegedly preying on Black women and girls for decades.

Golubski was accused of kidnapping, ra**ng, and s*xually assaulting vulnerable Black women in underserved neighborhoods in Kansas City, Kansas.

Prosecutors alleged that he used his power as a police officer to extort s*xual favors. He routinely threatened to harm or jail the relatives of women who refused to comply with his demands.

Dozens of women had come forward, with at least 10 prepared to testify against him in court.

The allegations came to light during an investigation into one of Golubski’s most prominent cases. He was heavily implicated in the 1994 wrongful conviction of Lamonte McIntyre, a 17-year-old Black youth who was framed for a double homicide.McIntyre was exonerated after spending 23 years in prison. In 2022, the local government reached a $12.5 million settlement with McIntyre and his mother. During those civil proceedings, Golubski invoked his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent 555 times.

Jury selection was slated to begin at a federal courthouse in Topeka, Kansas, on the morning of his death. When he failed to appear, his attorney informed the judge that Golubski was deceased.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation stated there were no signs of foul play, and the 71-year-old died by su***de.

Community advocates and the families of the victims expressed outrage, noting that his death denied the victims their day in court. Local activists have continued to demand further investigation into the police department that enabled his decades-long actions.

I retired in 2023 because I could no longer tolerate working in a totally corrupt system surrounded by evil people doing terrible things. My clients were rarely criminals but the judges, prosecutors, and cops were almost always committing crimes and misconduct. Fighting for justice against people who don’t believe in it is almost impossible and it nearly cost me my sanity and my life. 🎯

My passion for criminal justice reform is very real. Nineteen years ago I took my very first baby lawyer steps as a brand new, fresh out of law school, public defender in Johnson County. I had NEVER been in a courtroom when I walked into court my first day on the job to do first appearances. I stumbled over my words and coincidentally also my shoes (nearly tripping over my feet and falling face first onto the judges bench) that day. I was terrified. For myself. And for my clients. But I was also electrified by the tremendous power I was being given to impact other humans lives! I did not take that power lightly. I invested myself mind body and soul into fighting on the front lines for my clients. For fairness. For justice. For accountability. These are all things that I had been taught the criminal justice system was in the business of dispensing. Boy was I wrong.

As I started to earn a reputation as a fighter, I quickly saw the dark side of the “justice” system start to emerge. Prosecutors hellbent on winning at all costs. Cops willing to lie on the stand. And judges (almost all of whom are former PROSECUTORS) willing to look the other way on all misconduct by the prosecutors and police while AT THE SAME TIME holding defense attorneys (especially the ones that fight) to impossible standards (remember that time the judge in Wichita forced me to try a case where my client was facing 50 years in prison when I had only been on the case for a matter of days). Using their power to handcuff the defense at every turn while AT THE SAME TIME bending the law to benefit prosecutors and police.

The racist criminal justice system is and has been broken. Mass incarceration is a crime against humanity. And the treatment of black people in the court system is equally abhorrent and totally unacceptable (if they survive their encounter with the police). Police reform is absolutely necessary, but so is MASSIVE criminal justice reform. Let’s raise our voices and demand a fair and just system for everyone! ⚖️⚖️⚖️

Wyandotte County District Attorney Mark Dupree withheld a mountain of exculpatory evidence when this case was originally litigated in 2022. Why would a DA hide exculpatory evidence and fight CLEARLY WRONGFULLY CONVICTED MEN while at the same time running a “conviction integrity unit” that has received millions in funding while not freeing a single innocent person?

I sat across the table from Dupree, Kayla Roehler, and Damon Mitchell just days before the evidentiary hearing back in 2022. After only providing me with 77 pages of discovery, they refused to be honest about the bombshell information they had knowledge of, as referenced in the Star article. Dupree and Roehler worked together to hide evidence from INNOCENT MEN and celebrated as McKinney and Betts were sent back to prison in October 2022.

Even after the judge’s new ruling (issued on May 7, 2026) finding the DA’s office had committed massive misconduct, Dupree has still drug his feet on delivering justice to Celester McKinney and Brian Betts who served a combined 50 years in prison for a murder they DID NOT COMMIT.

Why? How much longer will they have to wait? And how much more money will the Unified Government be paying out in settlements thanks to this egregious police and prosecutor misconduct that still remains largely unchecked? And when will Wyandotte County finally address the Roger Golubski wrongful conviction mill that operated for decades?💯

A judge ruled Thursday that Celester McKinney received ineffective counsel in 2022, potentially opening the door to a new trial in the case.

Attending food truck festivals is NOT a duty of a district attorney. Seeking justice IS Dupree’s duty. It’s clear his office, his lack of integrity unit, and keeping the citizens of Wyandotte County safe are NOT HIS PRIORITIES. ❌❌❌

This hearing concludes today and I’m fully expecting a VERY FAVORABLE RULING from the judge this afternoon! The last three days have been a firestorm of bombshell witnesses and evidence. It’s very clear that Kayla Roehler and Mark Dupree intentionally withheld very damning evidence from both Celester McKinney and Brian Betts. It’s also been shown that ADA Dan Cahill (current corrput WyCo judge) withheld mountains of exculpatory evidence back in 1998 IN ADDITION TO engaging in obvious witness tampering and evidence tampering.

After 28 very long years, these two men are HOURS AWAY from justice! Keep us in your thoughts today. ⚖️💃🏻💋🧨🎯🏆💯
