The David Law Office is currently looking for an attorney with experience in family law and criminal defense. The ideal candidate will have some experience or background in both family law and criminal defense with prior jury trial experience preferred.

We have grown since Nick started the office in 2014, therefore it’s time for an update. Nick started the practice right out of law school operating out of a single room office in Topeka. Today, The David Law Office has two locations: 123 W 8th St. in Lawrence and 921 SW Topeka Blvd in Topeka and four attorneys. In 2018, Michelle became the second David joining The David Law Office team. In 2020 Cooper Overstreet joined the team and in 2021 Josh Luttrell. All four are skilled and talented making a fierce team of criminal defense attorneys; with diverse backgrounds each attorney brings something unique to the mix. Nick David opened the David Law Office in 2014 to devote his legal career to fighting for people who need someone on their side.



He developed his passion for advocacy and trial work as a prosecutor at the Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor he handled a range of felony and misdemeanor cases, including: Financial Crimes, Domestic Battery, Criminal Threats, Kidnapping, and Driving Under the Influence. He developed his skills in all areas of the criminal justice process from negotiating pleas to preparing briefs for the Court of Appeals. Nick is never afraid to put those skills to use in going to battle for his client and their families.

Nick is originally from San Clemente, California. He developed a sense for business and hard work at a young age and opened his first business in his parents’ basement at the age of 15. He later moved to Kansas where he attended Kansas State University and graduated in 2010 with a degree in Communications. Nick received his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law.

When Nick is not practicing law he enjoys traveling, racquetball, and being outside.

Nick is licensed to practice law in Kansas and the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. He is a member of the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Kansas Association for Justice, the Kansas Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He lives in Lawrence, Kansas.
