This home has a large garden that is an extension of the home. It has misters and an outdoor swamp cooler to stay cool in the summer. (I have been in the backyard when it was 117 and been comfortable.)

It also has 3 heaters and a fireplace in the She Shed for the winter.

The home is very eco-friendly with a brand new high efficiency water heater, the swamp cooler is used most of the summer and the solar screens keep out 80-90% of the heat, the covered patio and 2 large pergolas, with the mister system throughout the backyard keep the temperature down outside and that helps the house stays cooler.

Other energy efficient items include a new microwave, convection oven, fryer which is a great options to not turn on the stove or oven. The entire home has LED lighting to reduce the cost as well.

There are 3 of us who work from home in the house so at any given time there are 4-5 computers and other electronics going at the same time. The electric bill is extremely low, the equal pay is $136 this month and next month it is dropping to $131. When you add the HOA including trash $95, gas equal pay $40, water, last years average was $50 and sewer $26, that equals $347. So an inexpensive home to operate.
