Fun Fact: Alex excelled in a highly challenging case at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco, California.

Alex had the privilege of presenting his case before a panel of esteemed judges, including Circuit Judge VanDyke, Circuit Judge Sanchez, and Senior District Judge Vratil of the District of Kansas, who was sitting by designation.

For these types of cases, extreme preparation is required. This involves careful study of the arguments and counterarguments raised regarding issues, anticipating court questions, and creating the corresponding portion of the oral argument outline.

✅ Removal Defense ✅ BOND GRANTED Matter of J.M.M. (2022)
J.M.M. is a native and citizen of Guatemala who had been arrested for driving under the influence in violation of Utah law. After he was bailed out of state custody, he was transferred to immigration custody where the Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”) refused to release J.M.M. on a bond.

Alex filed a motion seeking a custody redetermination hearing with the Las Vegas Immigration Court on his behalf, arguing that J.M.M. did not pose a danger to the community or a risk of flight. Satisfied with the evidence presented, the presiding immigration judge set a bond. J.M.M. was released from immigration custody after posting this bond.

Falling in love ❤️can happen at any time. For one of Alex’s clients this just happened to be while the client was on vacation in the U.S. with a tourist visa. Our client, J.T.P., was in the U.S. on a trip and not long after his arrival fell in love. He knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with his new partner and proposed. They were married soon after.

After their wedding, they went to Alex for help preparing an adjustment filing application 📄. J.T.P. was concerned that because of his quick marriage there may be complications. But Alex was able to prepare all the necessary documents and show that their marriage was bona fide. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services reviewed the application and granted J.T.P. lawful permanent residence in the United States 🇺🇸.
