💰🤔So You’re probably asking yourself what does the federal Interest Rate cut even mean for a mortgage rate🤔💰

The Federal Reserve cut interest rates by half a percentage point (0.5%) on Wednesday, a bigger cut than many had expected. If you’re considering buying a house, you might be wondering if that means mortgage rates will take a plunge.

The answer is a bit complicated.

While the Fed’s actions do influence movement on home loan rates, it’s not a 1-to-1 relationship. A variety of economic factors, including the bond market, investor expectations and geopolitical events impact whether mortgage rates go up or down. Crucially, mortgage rates aren’t going to plunge by half a percent just because the Fed cut rates by that amount.
