Memorial Day isn’t about a 3-day weekend. It isn’t about thanking those who are currently serving or have served. Memorial Day is specifically about remembering the men and women who answered the call, put on the uniform, and never made it back to their loved ones.

Take a moment today — beyond the barbecues and the long weekend — to remember them by name if you can, or simply pause and reflect on the freedom you enjoy because of the price they paid.

Most people think keeping their house as a rental is “passive income” — but nobody warns them about the tax bomb 💣

Here’s the deal: your primary residence comes with one of the best tax breaks in the code — up to $250K (single) or $500K (married) in capital gains you never have to pay taxes on. That’s a HUGE advantage.

But the second you turn that house into a rental property, the clock starts ticking against you. All that depreciation you’re claiming? The IRS wants it back when you sell. Plus you’re paying capital gains on the profit. What could’ve been a tax-free $300K gain suddenly costs you $50k+ in taxes.

I’m all for building wealth through real estate — but strategy matters. Sometimes the smartest move is to sell your primary residence, take the tax-free gain, and buy a dedicated investment property if that’s the direction you’re going. Other times, the rental income justifies the tax hit. It depends on YOUR situation.

Bottom line: don’t make a six-figure decision without running the numbers first. Talk to your CPA.

A little late to post this, but May 8th marked one year of marriage with the love of my life and I couldn’t let it pass without sharing. 🥹❤️

One year of marriage, and every single day has been better than the last. From the moment we said “I do” to bringing our beautiful baby boy into this world and growing our amazing family, the memories we’ve already created mean everything to me. I am the luckiest and most blessed man in the world to call you mine.

You are the most incredible woman in my life, my partner, my best friend, my everything. I love you more than words can ever do justice. Here’s to a lifetime of more memories, more adventures, and more moments that take my breath away. I can’t wait for everything that’s still ahead of us. 💍👶🏼
