Last week, we traded the desert for Dutch canals and windmills, gathering in Amsterdam for an unforgettable firm retreat full of cultural exploration, team bonding, and a lot of tulips! 🌷

We stayed at De L’Europe Amsterdam, a historic five-star hotel perched along the Amstel River in the heart of the city, where we were welcomed with canal views right outside our windows.

We spent the retreat soaking in everything Amsterdam has to offer. A highlight of the trip was our tour of the world-famous Keukenhof Gardens, where we wandered through millions of tulips in full bloom, stopped at a nearby flower field, and enjoyed a beautiful lunch at Landgoed Tespelduyn.

Throughout the week, the team explored the city at their own pace. Some visited the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and the Anne Frank House, while others took in the skyline from A’DAM Lookout, wandered the Jordaan District, browsed the Albert Cuyp Market, and strolled through Vondelpark. A few of us visited L’Atelier du Champagne for a champagne tasting, and others sailed on canal cruisers, visited the Heineken Brewery, and came together each night to share meals.

What a special week full of new experiences, great conversations, and moments we’ll be talking about for years!

Congratulations to Founding Partner Robert Eglet on his induction to the Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame!

Thank you to everyone who joined us as we turned back the clock and rang in 1985 at our Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Holiday Party!

On December 13, The Portal at AREA15 transformed into a neon-lit Times Square straight out of 1984. Dick Clark hosted the evening and counted down the night, while guests danced to Madonna and George Michael, sipped Tequila Sunrises and Midori Sours, and enjoyed New York street eats. At 9 PM, the East Coast ball dropped on the screens and fireworks flashed across the room, bringing Times Square to life.

“Allie Mead did what every parent teaches our children to do — she buckled her seat belt. She followed the rules. She trusted that the company who designed and built that truck, designed and installed the seat belt, would protect her, not injure her, or at least warn her about potential dangers. That trust was shattered, like her spine, not by accident, but by not installing a lap-shoulder seat belt in the seat Allie sat in.”

Robert Eglet delivered closing arguments on Thursday, November 6, in Mead v. General Motors LLC, asking a jury to award $64.8 million to Allie Mead, who was seriously injured while wearing a two-point lap belt.

Allie Mead was a passenger in a 1998 Chevrolet truck and sustained serious injuries in a crash seven years ago.
