Seeing flashing lights on the 215 or I-15 is stressful, and it's easy to feel like you just want it to go away. We get it.

Here's the thing to know first: paying the ticket is not the same as resolving it. Paying counts as a conviction, which can mean points on your license and a higher insurance bill for years.

You have options. Many speeding tickets can be fought or negotiated down, sometimes to a non-moving violation with no points. A flat-fee attorney can handle it for you, so you know the cost up front and don't have to sort it out alone.

Ever watched someone drive and thought, "that can't be legal"? You might be surprised just how fast violations add up. Sometimes in less than a minute.

Parking where you shouldn't? That's a ticket. Blocking a bike lane? Another one. Cutting across multiple lanes at once? Yep, that too. Driving the wrong way down a one-way street? That one's serious.

In Nevada, each of these is a separate violation with its own fine and its own points on your license. Stack them up and you're looking at potential license suspension, higher insurance rates, and court appearances.

If you or someone you care about is dealing with a stack of violations like this, it's worth talking to someone who knows how to sort it out.

Here's one most people don't think about: pulling over to pick someone up in a crosswalk. Seems harmless, right?

Under Nevada law, that one simple act could count as four separate violations. In rare circumstances, it could even rise to felony level depending on what happens next.

The truth is, a lot of everyday driving habits that feel normal are actually against the law. Most people don't find out until they're holding a ticket.

If you've received a citation and aren't sure what you're really up against, you don't have to figure it out alone. An attorney can walk you through exactly what the charges mean and what your options are.

This morning I received a call claiming I had missed jury duty and there was a warrant out for my arrest. It was a scam.

A bogus warrant scam is hitting Las Vegas again, already costing at least three community members thousands of dollars each. Scammers may call, text, or email claiming you have a warrant for missing jury duty or failing to pay fines, then demand immediate payment. Know the signs and stay protected.

If your teenager just received a traffic ticket in Clark County, you may assume the case will be resolved quietly through Juvenile Court and that will be the end of it. That part is true. But here is what many parents do not realize until it is too late: the DMV points still go on your teen's driving record, even when the case is handled in Juvenile Court.

That distinction matters more than most people think. A handful of points within 12 months can put a young driver at risk of losing their license, and no court seal protects that side of the record.

Our latest article covers exactly how Clark County Juvenile Court handles traffic infractions for minors, why a parent must be present at every hearing, what record sealing actually covers, and when having an attorney on your side can make a real difference.

Important update for Clark County drivers: the Nevada DMV has announced the closure of both its Henderson and North Las Vegas offices as the new Silverado Ranch facility nears its opening.

If you have an appointment at either location, plan ahead now. Wait times and appointment availability are already being affected during the transition.

🔹 The Henderson office will permanently close this fall, with services moving to a new, larger Silverado Ranch facility about 10 miles away.
🔹 The North Las Vegas office is also closing as part of this consolidation.

If a DMV delay is affecting your accident claim or vehicle documentation, we may be able to help. Call Cap & Kudler at (702) 878-8778 for a free consultation with an attorney.

If you’ve driven around Las Vegas lately, you may have noticed more license plate reader cameras showing up on poles and traffic lights. These are often Flock Safety cameras, and they can capture your license plate plus details like vehicle make, model, color, and location.

A big question we hear is whether these cameras can be used to automatically issue traffic tickets in Nevada. In general, Nevada law has long prohibited government entities from using camera equipment to gather evidence for issuing traffic citations, but there are still important nuances and privacy concerns worth understanding.
