Belleair friends:
I know we are all still cleaning up in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, but unfortunately we have another storm coming… Hurricane Milton is looking like it will be a much more significant wind event than Hurricane Helene. Please remember:
1. Understand your homeowners insurance policy: Know what your insurance policy covers in the event of a hurricane.
2. Take inventory: Make a list of your home's contents, including photos, descriptions, and receipts. Keep this list in a safe place.
3. Photo/Video: document everything (interior/exterior/roof). OVER DUE IT.
4. Prepare an emergency kit: Assemble a kit with supplies for you and your family to last at least three days. Include non-perishable food, water, and medicine.
5. Strengthen your home: Take steps to protect your home from hurricane damage, such as:
-Securing and sealing your roof
-Shielding your doors and windows
-Bringing outdoor furniture inside
-Decuttering your gutters
6. And like my post about Hurricane Helene… The area is going to be crawling with people door knocking for business. DO YOUR RESEARCH ON WHO YOU HIRE to do mitigation/emergency services/dry out/rebuild/roof etc….
My prayers go out to folks who are still dealing with Helene. Please stay safe. Feel free to reach out if anyone has any questions regarding their policy.
Thank you,
TJN
