What's a probate asset vs. a non probate asset? A non probate asset has a beneficiary or co-owner (think 401k, or a joint bank account). We know who it goes to after we die because we set it up with the company or financial institution that way. A probate asset is an asset that is generally only in the name of the decedent (think bank account only in your name, or a car titled in one name). We don't know who to give it to, so we need the Will to tell us who to give it to. Probate assets pass through your Will. Nonprobate assets do not. Got it?

Children going to college? If they are 18 or older, they are now in charge of their own healthcare and finances. In order to speak to their physicians in an accident or emergency, or to even see them in the emergency room, you need to have a Healthcare Power of Attorney. If they encounter an issue with a Landlord or the bank, you can only speak on their behalf if you have a Financial Power of Attorney. We are a small, professional law firm of four seeking a friendly, reliable, and organized Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to join our team.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Benefits: Health Insurance & 401(k)
Paid Sick, Holidays and Vacation

Key Responsibilities:
Greet clients and visitors warmly, both in person and on the phone
Manage incoming calls, messages, and scheduling
Handle correspondence and document preparation
Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems
Provide general administrative support to attorneys and staff
Assist with office upkeep and supply management

Requirements:
Prior experience as a receptionist or in a similar front-desk/administrative role
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Comfortable typing, filing and managing documents
Friendly, team-oriented, and professional demeanor
Strong communication and organizational skills
Enjoy working with people and being part of a small, supportive team

Pay between $14-$18/hour commensurate with experience.
