Twenty years.
It seems like it hasn’t been that long ago that I graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law, but time is a thief. I can’t imagine where my practice will take me during the next twenty years!

It was an honor to be on the panel for the Caregiver Cafe this morning at Morning Pointe of Danville Assisted Living! This was a great event with speakers explaining topics such as financial planning and fraud protection. I spoke about the importance of POAs ,living wills and wills. These are all things that you need to start preparing for now, before unexpected events happen in your life. I had a great time chatting with the people that came out this morning!

Talking about the future can be scary. Even though talking about your end of life wishes isn’t most fun topic, it’s something that we all must plan for. I’ll be at Morning Pointe of Danville Assisted Living Saturday morning with some other panelists giving you ideas for planning for your future.

The Kentucky Bar Association requires that attorneys complete a minimum of 12 hours (including 2 hours of ethics) each year in order to maintain our law license.

It’s important to me to learn as much as I can about the law so that I can best serve my clients. My current CLE balance is 42.25 hours (not counting what I’m currently watching this afternoon!). When you choose me as your attorney, you are choosing someone who is dedicated to staying informed about the law and who is open to learning new methods to the practice of law.

I sent an email to my local representative. He have seen firsthand how Drug Court changes lives. Drug Court participants have a lower recidivism rate as compared to other probationers/parolees. Participants are required to work, do community service, continue their education, all while attending counseling being drug tested. Drug Court works and it saves lives.

Please take 10 minutes out of your day and ask your legislator to save specialty courts!
