A message from Marc, DannLaw founder
Since founding the Dann Law Firm (DLF) in 2008 I have had the privilege of practicing law with an exceptional team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. Over the years the practice has evolved in many ways but our primary focus: providing sound legal advice and effective representation to working Americans involved in disputes with banks, mortgage companies and other predators, has remained the same.
You don’t have to be immersed in consumer law to know that millions of Americans are laboring under the weight of crushing debt and are being abused by those who use unscrupulous and often illegal tactics to collect it. If you want to see how bad things are, just Google terms like foreclosure, student loan debt, payday lending, and bankruptcy. The results will paint a very frightening picture.
In addition to debt-related issues, an epidemic of data breaches caused by companies that have failed to protect their customers’ private information has erupted across the nation. As a result of those failures, cybercriminals have gained access to credit card and Social Security numbers, addresses, confidential health records, and other sensitive info that puts people at risk for identity theft and other types of fraud that can negatively impact lives for years.
The threats to consumers don’t end there. The nation’s largest banks, lenders, retailers, and government agencies have and continue to use a dizzying array of scams to cheat hundreds of thousands of customers out of millions of dollars. Because the amounts in question are sometimes small, the rip offs often continue unnoticed until passionate lawyers jump in and say “enough is enough.”
Equally concerning is the increasing use of arbitration and class action waiver clauses in consumer contracts. These insidious, indecipherable provisions which are often buried in fine print that most people do not read and could not understand have slammed the courthouse door in the face of customers who have legitimate complaints. While the offensive clauses take traditional methods of resolving disputes off the table, experienced attorneys can litigate these claims on behalf of consumers one at a time via arbitration.
To ensure that we can continue protect consumers from the ever-evolving dangers that plague the marketplace, the mortgage market, cyberspace, and government, we have significantly expanded the firm’s areas of practice and geographic reach. Today, DannLaw’s 13 lawyers are licensed to practice in eight states and our total team is now comprised of 25 highly skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced legal professionals.
