As of October 1, 2026, Florida’s new rental fraud law makes it a third-degree felony to knowingly and willfully use false information, fake IDs, altered pay stubs, fraudulent bank statements, or someone else’s identity to obtain and take possession of a rental property. (Florida Senate⁠)
