The FAA has updated its Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) Status Report worksheets used in the medical certification process.

After reviewing the updated forms, we do not see any major substantive changes to the information being requested. The most notable update appears to be that the FAA has consolidated and standardized the reporting process through dedicated worksheets for both initial certification and recertification, helping ensure that the information the FAA typically requests is provided up front. The FAA has indicated that these worksheets are intended to streamline the review process and reduce back-and-forth requests for additional information.

For airmen currently dealing with OSA certification issues, the underlying requirements appear largely unchanged. As always, successful certification will continue to depend on demonstrating effective treatment, compliance, and the absence of aeromedically significant symptoms.
