Third Coast Lawyers is proud to be in Indianapolis this week, connecting with union leaders, members, and industry partners at the 2026 IBEW Sixth District Progress Meeting, Women's Conference, and RENEW Conference. As a law firm committed to supporting working families, we are grateful for the opportunity to participate as a vendor and strengthen our relationships within the labor community.

A special thank you to the men and women of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for their hospitality, dedication, and the important work they do every day. We were also fortunate to enjoy a special visit to the legendary Indianapolis 500, an unforgettable experience and a reminder of the rich traditions that make Indianapolis such a remarkable city.

As race weekend approaches, we extend our best wishes to all of the drivers, teams, and participants competing in this year’s Indianapolis 500. Good luck, race safely, and we look forward to an exciting and memorable competition.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month — an important reminder that mental health matters just as much as physical health.

From workplace stress and trauma to the emotional impact of serious injuries, mental health challenges can affect anyone. As a law firm, we encourage taking time to check in on yourself, support others, and recognize the signs when someone may be struggling.

Awareness, compassion, and access to support can make a meaningful difference. You are never alone, and seeking help is a sign of strength. đź’š

This week is Global Asbestos Awareness Week.

For many in the building trades, asbestos wasn't just in the job--it WAS the job. Insulation, pipe covering, demo work--often without proper warning or protection.

The risks are real:
- Mesothelioma
- Lung Cancer
- Diseases that show up decades later

If you worked around asbestos, it matters. If you're dealing with a diagnosis, you have rights.

We stand with union workers and their families - then and now.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day. At our firm, we recognize that individuals with autism--and their families--often navigate systems that aren't built with them in mind. From education to employment to healthcare, advocacy matters.

We believe in:
- Equal access to opportunities
- Respect for neurodiversity
- Protecting the rights of individuals and families

Awareness is important--but action is what creates change.

Today, we stand with the autism community and reaffirm our commitment to advocacy, inclusion, and accountability.

PFAS contamination isn't just an environmental issue--it's a legal and public health crisis.

Often called "forever chemicals," PFAS don't break down in the environment or the human body. They accumulate over time, and mounting scientific evidence has linked exposure to serious health risks, including certain cancers, thyroid disease, immune system disruption, and developmental issues.

What's especially concerning is that many communities have been exposed through something as basic as their drinking water -- without their knowledge or consent.

From a legal standpoint, this raises significant questions: Who knew about the contamination? When did they know? And what responsibility do they bear for failing to act?

Access to clean water isn't optional--it's a fundamental expectation. When that trust is broken, accountability matters.

If you live in an area impacted by PFAS, stay informed is the first step. The next may be understanding your legal rights.

Check out this article in USA Today where you can search by zip or city to determine if PFAS contamination is affecting your water supply:
