Just a reminder! This Friday’s Fall Court Opening Ceremony will be held at LAKE CHARLES CITY COURT in Courtroom A. We will NOT be in the District Courthouse/Clerk’s Building as we have been in years prior. Please make every effort to attend as we want to warmly welcome the new members to the bar, recognize members for their years of practice, and pay tribute to those who have recently passed. Immediately following the ceremony, the Fall Luncheon will be held at the Pioneer Club where we will be electing new officers and handle some business issues of the Bar. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone Friday!

This Saturday, May 7, 2011, is the annual YLS Softball Tournament. If you haven't signed up your team or want to play but don't have a team, it isn't too late! Please contact Carl Rachal or Kevin Fontenot. The tournament starts at 9:00 a.m. at O.D. Johnson. It's a family affair, so feel free to bring the kiddos for a relaxing fun filled day!

Thursday, May 5, 2011, the LSBA Leadership Class is sponsoring the Pro Bono Academy from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Lake Charles Country Club. By attending, you will receive two (2) free hours of CLE (including 1 hour of professionalism). For more information, please contact Jonathan Johnson. Also, attendees should feel free to swing by the YLS Spring Social, which starts at 5:30.

As always, cocktails and munchies will be provided, and the fun will start at 5:30.
