We are pleased to share that Eric J. Hartz has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the LaGrange County Community Foundation.
The LaGrange County Community Foundation was created by and for the people of LaGrange County in 1991, and enables anyone with philanthropic interests to support the needs of LaGrange County. Together, with individuals, families, businesses, the LCCF creates a permanent source of community funding that can benefit LaGrange County forever. The LCCF is a tax-exempt, public grantmaking charity, dedicated to improving the lives of everyone in LaGrange County.
The Foundations's board of local community members identify current and emerging issues and use our resources to address local needs through grants and scholarships, and leverage gifts and bequests from generous donors to drive positive change.
“When I made the decision to move back to LaGrange after 17 years of living in Indianapolis, I knew I wanted to help impact the community in a positive way,” Eric said of joining the Community Foundation Board. “Both my wife and I had great experiences
growing up in LaGrange County and have a strong desire to continue to make LaGrange a great place to live and raise a family.”
"The appointment to the Community Foundation Board is particularly meaningful to me because both my father, Fred Hartz, and one of my mentors, Terry Schmidt, served on
the board in the past and I see this as a chance to help continue their work. It certainly is a big responsibility to be asked to help steward a large endowment, but I also see it as an opportunity to help shape the community and prepare LaGrange County for future challenges faced by rural communities in a changing world.”
