SCAM ALERT!! The Sheriff's Office has received reports of people receiving telephone calls again from the 260-668-1000 phone number stating that they missed jury duty and an arrest warrant has been issued. This is a SCAM! Do not engage with the caller or provide any information and terminate the call immediately. Arrest warrants are not issued on the basis of missing jury duty. Neither the Sheriff's Office nor the courts will ever contact anyone by telephone demanding any payment over the phone to resolve any type of issue. Please feel free to contact the Sheriff's Office with any questions.

We have received multiple calls from local businesses reporting a scam. Someone is calling and claiming that the business or an employee has a warrant or jury duty issue and is demanding payment. They may even ask to speak to a specific employee.

This is a scam. Do not give out any personal information and do not send any payment.

Please share this message with your friends and family so others are aware. These scammers can sound very legitimate, so it’s important to help spread the word.
