I happened to run into a member of Lawyers Club at a recent event who had served on the jury in a case in which I testified as an expert. I was so thrilled to hear what she said about my testimony, that she and the other jurors found what I had to say was helpful to them in making their decision. It means so much to me, especially coming from another lawyer. This is what she said on my LinkedIn page:

“As a juror on one of the recent trials where you testified as an expert witness, I can attest!

The jury agreed on very little in the deliberations room, but there was resounding agreement when it came time to discuss your testimony. Everyone recognized your background and experience made you wildly qualified to guide us through the ethical considerations of the issues, and everyone agreed on how compelling we found your testimony.

That trial may have cost me six weeks of my life, but at least I got a solid referral and resource out of it! 😊”

The new Rule of Professional Conduct 8.3, that requires lawyers to report other lawyers for certain types of illegal conduct, has generated questions about when it is necessary to report conduct, what types of illegal conduct are required to be reported, and what types of conduct shouldn't be reported. I am very excited to announce the new name of my law firm: Wolfe Legal Solutions, PC. The main focus of my work here will shift from full-time legal malpractice litigation to assisting attorneys as an expert witness, case and trial strategist, and ethics and civil litigation consultant. While I have already been undertaking this type of work at Wolfe Legal Group, PC, along with my litigation practice for the past several years, once our current litigation concludes, I will be turning full-time to helping other lawyers help their clients.

I am a Certified Legal Specialist in California in two areas: Legal Malpractice Law, and Civil Trial Law, and have been practicing law since 1981 (41 years). In the coming weeks, we will be changing our website and email addresses, but the telephone number and address will remain the same.

Going forward, I am pleased to be able to render more assistance to people by helping their lawyers, and upholding the highest ethical standards of legal practice. Thanks to all of you for your support!
