Supported by three generations of respected Smith and Prater family presence in Knox and Blount Counties, Ryan currently resides in his 30th and forever home in Maryville, TN. Moving frequently throughout his childhood and spending time touring homes with his parents with each relocation they went through with his parents company, Ryan quickly became interested in real estate, homes and enclaves of micro-culture which permeate Tennessee. After traveling the world — including teaching English in China, a Masters degree from Birkbeck College, University of London, stint studying at Trinity College in Dublin, travels for research to South African, India, Argentina... Ryan is happy to call East Tennessee home. Ryan’s favorite thing about living in East Tennessee is the breathtaking mountain scenery and distinct seasons. Plus, there is always something to do in Knoxville, Maryville, Sevierville, Clinton or Dandridge- the rivers and lakes surrounding this area and the plethora of amazing locally owned businesses, restaurants and outdoor activities keeps all of our residents busy and genuinely happy. In his free time, Ryan also enjoys playing polo (from the back of a horse), gardening (AKA digging in the dirt), cooking (his mother calls this Chef-ing), restoring old homes and creating new homes as well.
