If you have not had a chance to view the USA Cycling National Championships happening this weekend in downtown Knoxville, you might be missing out! Here are a few pictures from Friday evening's races. The attorneys took a break Friday evening from preparing for divorce mediation next week, and drafting motions for a probate matter, to enjoy the cycling and cheer the winners! Be sure to notice the Old Knox County Courthouse -- and former site of the Tennessee Supreme Court -- in the background!

Happy INDEPENDENCE DAY, USA! 🇺🇲 As we enjoy this long holiday weekend filled with picnics, fireworks, and other great traditions, we are really celebrating the freedom that our Founding Fathers and Revolutionary soldiers secured for us. The 55 brave men who signed the Declaration of Independence 246 years ago, rejecting the rule of a king, did so at great personal risk to form a more perfect union. Since then, we have prospered, stumbled, led, fought, legislated, invented, collaborated, and educated. We have moved forward, and sometimes backwards. We have preserved our Union. We have put men into space, and on the Moon! Next stop: Americans on Mars! Let us remember and cheer it all as we Celebrate this most American holiday! Here are a few recent photos from the Johnson Space Center at Houston, Texas, including a Saturn V rocket, at that time the most powerful machine ever built, and the rocket that put us on the moon in 1967, and a few shots of the planned mission to Mars 2030! Whether your graduate has earned her or his high school, college, or Master’s or Doctorate degree, we know they did not do it alone, and we congratulate you on helping them achieve their goals!

When I graduated college, my father, himself a lawyer, mailed a greeting card to me with a very tired girl sleeping in a mound of dirty laundry. The greeting on the inside read," Welcome to the Real World, where there ain't no Spring Break." I always suspected my mother bought the card, but it was definitely my father's signature on the inside! I would definitely not be where I am today without my parents' help - even that card was a good lesson!

We wish each new Graduate the very best as they move on to college, the work force, their chosen careers, and the next stage of life! Best Wishes!

For a beautiful celestial view tonight, step outside and Look Up! In the sky will be the rare August Blue Moon, with Jupiter shining nearby as the brightest star in the sky above it. Next is Saturn with its many rings, and then a little higher is Pluto, formerly known as our smallest planet, number 9. Enjoy our sky this evening!

The August full moon, also known as the "Sturgeon Moon," reaches its peak Sunday morning at 8:02 a.m. EDT (1200 GMT). It is also considered a seasonal Blue Moon because it is the third full moon to occur in a single season that has four full moons.

Today is the 79th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway: the unlikely US-led Allied victory in WWII that turned the tide of the war in the Pacific. The National WWII Museum has posted a link (below) to a treasure trove of information about that battle, the plans, the victory, and the brave soldiers who won the day. Spend a few minutes there! 🇺🇲🇺🇲⭐

In June 1942, US and Japanese naval forces engaged in a five-day battle in the middle of the Pacific Ocean that changed the course of the war in the Pacific.
