We spent part of Friday night with Joey Ruffalo ( and his lovely other half) at The Prosperity Lounge and WJBZ Praise 96.3 FM talking about Service of Process, the Debbie and Marie Domestic Violence Prevention Act, and our State of the Art Ankle Monitoring System, as well as BacTrack Alcohol Monitoring.. Thanks so much Joey for allowing us to talk about saving lives in the criminal courts and the function we serve in the Civil Courts. It was an amazing time and I hope we can do it again sometime!

Well, well, well looks like they finally got caught and fortunately before anyone ended up dead or seriously hurt.

As a Professional Process Server .. I fully support this bill.. People who have fallen on hard times should not be humiliated and even if they do deserve to be evicted.. and yes we do body cam all serves ( but we have only ever posted stills and it was done with the identity of the defendant blocked out with their face covered, and in states with 2 party consent, we inform the defendant that according to the laws of the state of issuance, we are recording the serve for their safety and ours and ask if thats ok.. Ive only had a defendant tell me no once)
1) We serve the notices and detainers only- set outs should be done by the Sheriff's department because of the potential for violence.

2) Id argue that since rent is a debt, blasting it all over social media is a violation of Federal Debt Collection Laws including GBLA..

THIS is not the only issue or reason we in Tennessee should have state issued licenses .. we have dangerous felons and even a s*x offender that have served Process.. there absolutely should be a TBI Background Report and Bond at minimum( Hypothetically, the TCA states the Clerk shall not knowingly give Process to a felon, but rarely does a Process Server get Process directly from the Clerk) .. it would also prevent other situations that I wont go into here. I really hope it passes.

The 7th Annual Operation Christmas Cheer organized by Smoky Mountain Process And Legal Services and Smoky Mountain Offender Tracking is in the books! I am over the moon with the generosity and love shown East Tennessee Foster Children this year.. We provided gifts for 104 foster children.. 102 from our partner agency and 2 from another contract agency and one other child in need this Christmas Season with a budget of on average $80/ per child.. or for a total of $8400 with toys and cash donations.

Friday & Yesterday with the help of a lot of Elves we distributed the gifts to the Foster Parents with Appearances by Santa and Mrs. Clause, Coach Moore and Tracking the Truckster , Nurse Educator Ginger from Health to paint holiday cheer on the kids faces!!

A HUGE Thank you to our donor " Elves" for their help because without you all none of this would have been possible..

The 7th Annual Operation Christmas Cheer is in full on scramble mode!! This Morning we have the full 411 on the who, what, and why!!

We have through tomorrow to collect up and make Christmas Morning Bright for East Tennessee Foster Children!
Did you know that every 2 minutes a child enters foster care? And did you know that they travel with Trash Bags?

We still need gifts for the little littles and the teens!! Folks have been so generous Vivian Underwood Shipe Vivi Shipe at the Empowerment Center, Scooter's Coffee on Kingston Pike, Scott Anderson and Missy Varner at Hot Dog Hutt, and Mary Jane Davis donated even more toys yesterday!! As have many of my client law firms!! The Conference Room at the The English Law Firm is filling up.. BUT we still need more! If you can help or still have toys for us to collect and pick up.. you can call me and I or one of my Trusty Elves can come with their Sleighs to pick up..

The Who, Where and What!

Some of you have asked how this all happens and how we get the needs and gifts to the Foster Children and their foster parents ..
The answer is for that the last 7 years we have partner with one of the agencys that contract with the State of Tennessee to find those kids and Foster Parents in need. This agency covers Foster Children in Knox, Sevier, Blount, Anderson, Roane, Greene, Hamblen, Jefferson, Grainger, Loudon, Monroe, Union, Cocke, Sullivan.. the whole Eastern Grand Division of Tennessee!!

The Why!
We do this as Foster Parents get no extra money at Christmas.. their stipend is $20/ day .. so we do this to help them and give these kids not only gifts.. but to show them that we care and that they are not throw aways.. many times when a child is taken into Foster Care.. they get 10 minutes to collect their belongings in a black trash bag.. that is a powerful image that sets up in their minds for life this is such a prevalent theme, there have even been books written on the subject and the impact it has.. so these kids getting their gifts is everything !!
