Summer travel plans? Make sure your important immigration documents travel with you. Depending on your status, it’s a good idea to keep documents like your passport, visa, green card, work permit, travel authorization, or other immigration paperwork easily accessible while traveling. Keeping copies stored safely can also help in case documents are lost or needed unexpectedly. If you have questions about travel requirements or your immigration status, speaking with an immigration attorney before your trip can help you avoid unnecessary issues. https://jenningsimmigration.com/

If you’re planning to apply for a nonimmigrant visa, it’s important to stay updated on recent immigration changes. Increased screening, possible higher visa fees, stricter interview requirements, and updates to work visa programs like H-1B and H-2B could affect your application process. Staying informed and preparing early can help avoid delays and unexpected issues. If you have questions about how these changes may impact you or your family, speaking with an immigration attorney can help you better understand your options. https://jenningsimmigration.com/?utm_source=Jennings_Immigration_Law_Office_(Knoxville)&utm_medium=Facebook

⚠️ Be aware of scams on social media ⚠️
There are many posts and messages claiming they can help immigrants quickly obtain U.S. citizenship, most of them are NOT legitimate. Scammers often promise fast results, special connections, or guaranteed approvals in exchange for money.
The truth is, the citizenship process must go through official government channels, and no one can legally “speed it up” outside of that process.
Protect yourself and your loved ones:
✔️ Be cautious of offers that seem too good to be true
✔️ Never send money or personal information to unverified sources
✔️ Work only with licensed immigration attorneys or accredited representatives
Staying informed is the best way to avoid being taken advantage of. Contact us to learn how we can help! https://jenningsimmigration.com/?utm_source=Jennings_Immigration_Law_Office_(Knoxville)&utm_medium=Facebook

Confused about the difference between a work visa and a work permit? You’re not alone.

A work visa allows someone to enter or stay in a country for employment, often tied to a specific job or employer. A work permit, on the other hand, is what gives someone legal authorization to work while they’re already in the country.

In simple terms: a visa gets you here to work, and a permit allows you to work while you’re here. Depending on your situation, you may need one or both. Understanding the difference is an important step in protecting your opportunities and staying compliant. https://jenningsimmigration.com/?utm_source=Jennings_Immigration_Law_Office_(Knoxville)&utm_medium=Facebook

Not all legal titles mean the same thing, especially in the U.S. Many people assume a notary and an attorney do similar work, but that’s not the case:
✔️ Notary Public – Verifies identity, witnesses signatures, and notarizes documents
✔️ Attorney (Lawyer) – Can give legal advice, prepare legal documents, and represent you in court

⚠️ Important: In many countries, a “notary” has advanced legal training. In the United States, they do NOT, so it’s important to know who you’re turning to for help.

Need real immigration guidance? Make sure you’re speaking with a licensed attorney. https://jenningsimmigration.com/

For immigrants, filing a tax return is more than just paperwork, it can make a real difference. While recent reports show fear and confusion are causing some immigrants to stop filing, experts warn that this could have serious financial consequences, for both families and the economy.

✔️ Shows responsibility for future immigration processes
✔️ Helps you qualify for refunds or tax credits
✔️ Builds proof of income for housing, loans, and more
✔️ Can be done with an ITIN, even without a Social Security number

👉For immigrants, filing a tax return is more than just paperwork, it can make a real difference.

Recent updates from USCIS highlight a major shift toward stricter screening and vetting across immigration processes.

• More thorough background checks for applicants
• Increased scrutiny in visa, green card, and naturalization cases
• New systems and reviews to catch fraud or security concerns
• Potential for longer processing times due to deeper reviews

These changes are aimed at strengthening national security and ensuring only qualified applicants are approved.

Important Travel Alert: ICE may set up checkpoints at airports nationwide.

-If you are on a work visa, asylum, tourist visa, or a permanent resident, always carry your original legal documents. Not having them could lead to detention.
-U.S. citizens do not need to carry proof of citizenship. If questioned, simply declare “U.S. citizen” in English. Detaining a U.S. citizen is illegal.

Stay safe and make sure your documents are up to date.
