If you've seen me grinning over the past 2 weeks, let me tell you why:
I normally wouldn't take a case in Hamilton County but justice required Ankrom Advocacy.
A child recently lost her father and was terrified of being forced to move to Chattanooga and live with a stranger.
The biological mother Petitioned the Court for custody after the biological father's untimely death.
With little to no visitation nor financial support, it seemed clear the biological mom was motivated by the survivor benefits for a child she lost custody of and abandoned a decade ago.
Today that child is in the custody of my client, the step mother - the only mother the child's ever known. The child is happy and the child is loved.
The father was a fine man. This is exactly what he wanted for his daughter. Honored to be trusted with such a responsibility for this family.
