🚨📱 Hands Off the Phone Starting June 5 🚨
State Police and PennDOT are reminding drivers — if you’re caught holding your phone while driving, it’s gonna cost you.
Paul Miller’s Law (signed in 2024) bans the use of hand-held devices behind the wheel. That means: 👉 No scrolling
👉 No texting
👉 No holding your phone at all
And yes… that includes sitting at a red light.
💸 Fines start at $50 beginning June 5, and once court costs and fees get added in, it won’t be just “50 bucks.”
Consider this your warning before your wallet learns the hard way.

Please be advised. We’ve had several calls or customers stop by our office after receiving text messages claiming to be from PennDOT about “outstanding ticket violations,” along with a link to click and pay.

We confirmed with PennDOT that these messages are scams.

A quick reminder:
• PennDOT does not send unsolicited text messages asking you to pay fines or provide personal information.
• Do not click any links in unexpected texts or emails.
• Delete the message immediately.

If you receive a suspicious message, you can report it to:
• The PA Attorney General’s Office: 1‑800‑441‑2555 or [email protected]
• The Federal Trade Commission: www.reportfraud.ftc.gov
• PennDOT’s Customer Call Center: 717‑412‑5300 (to verify anything that seems questionable)
