I attended Lone Star Community College's Academy for Lifelong Learning ("ALL") Open House this afternoon. Lone Star's ALL offers free and low-cost classes and activities for adults age 50 and older. Classes in our area include pickleball, history, music, cooking, as well as more mundane but important classes covering Medicare, long-term care insurance, and legal topics. Today I had the opportunity to visit with the case management and discharge planning team at Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital to talk about the ins and outs of estate planning and the importance of getting your affairs in order. I also had the pleasure of being introduced by one of the absolute best nurse case managers out there!
