Wyoming Seminary Mock Trial

Sem Mock Trial was named the 2016 Pennsylvania State Runner-Up, having advanced to the State Championship round for the second time in school history.

A number of competitors were also individually recognized for their outstanding performances. Over the two days of the State Tournament, Samarth Desai received 3 Best Advocate Awards, and Emily Laurore received 1. Lina Tori Jan received 2 Best Witness Awards; Avery Conyngham and Cobie Wise each received 1.

This week Sem Mock Trial won its 6th District Championship in the last 7 years! Emily Laurore received two Best Advocate Awards, and Samarth Desai received one. From the witness stand, Paige Allen received two Best Witness Awards, and Lina Tori Jan received one.

Here we are with the Honorable Thomas F. Burke and District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis after our 2nd round win, and with the Honorable Jennifer L. Rogers after our District Championship victory.

We are looking forward to competing for a Regional Championship next month!

The Blue and White Teams at the University of Pittsburgh's 12th Annual High School Mock Trial Tournament. Sara Edgar, Richard Hughes, and Meghna Melkote received Outstanding Attorney Awards, and Paige Allen, Lina Tori Jan, and Imran Pakbaz received Outstanding Witness Awards. Great first (official) mock trial practice today! Looking forward to continuing our success this coming season after placing 2nd in the world at Empire New York. Also, a huge congratulations to our co-captain Samarth Desai for receiving an attorney award at Empire, tying for the highest number of ranks in the tournament. Let's keep up the good work!

This past weekend, Sem Mock Trial proved to be very successful at Princeton University's annual Spring Moot Court Tournament. Out of fifty-three teams, three out of our six teams placed in the Top Four. The team of Kaylee Slusser and Sara Edgar placed first, the team of Samarth Desai and Richard Hughes placed second, and the team of Nicole Wert and Emily Laurore placed fourth. Additionally, Sara Edgar, Emily Laurore, and Samarth Desai were individually recognized and received Best Attorney awards. Thank you for all of your support during our season!
