Harrison: successfully filed a motion to dismiss refusal charge due to improper police procedure. Dui charge was also dismissed due to lack of operation

Bergen County Central Municipal- DUI amended to reckless driving

West New York- DUI amended to reckless driving

For those looking to buy or sell their home, the State of New Jersey has Increased its “Mansion Tax” and has shifted the burden to the Seller rather than the buyer. Given the current real estate market, $1 + million dollar home transactions are much more common. As such, buyers and sellers should be cognizant of these changes.

Based on recently signed legislation, residential burglaries in NJ have been upgraded from a crime of the third degree which carry prison time of up to 5 years to a crime of the first degree which carries prison time of 10-20 years

The law heightens penalties for home burglaries in what officials said is a bid to deter property crime in New Jersey.

New Jersey recently passed legislation establishing a State-wide Mental health diversionary program for individuals charged with certain nonviolent offenses that have a certified mental health diagnosis of a mental disorder prior to the commission of the offense or after the offense that has a direct correlation with the alleged criminal acts . Those accepted into the diversionary program can avoid jail time and/or a criminal record in certain situations
