Kearney has a Good Life District.

(That's an actual designation awarded by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.) The Good Life District covers 200 acres for new retail, restaurants, and entertainment development. The state will return half of all sales tax generated within the district for up to 30 years.

The SportsPlex opened in 2025 and drew 20,000 visitors in three months. Kinkaider and Bierhaus just opened. A new cancer center. A renovated art museum. Daily nonstop flights to Denver and Chicago.

Kearney is a city making moves, not a city holding on.

There's something worth saying about arriving somewhere that you can build into as well.

There's a line people use about Kearney that sounds like something a Chamber of Commerce would say:

"I don't know of a single family that moved to Kearney and then left."

People come for a job or a relationship or a lease that was cheap enough to try. They find a house they love and a neighborhood that knows their name. Their kids start school and the teachers know them too. They join a rec league, a church, a Thursday trivia night, and suddenly they're part of the fabric of a place rather than just living near it.

Kearney sneaks up on people, and that's probably the best thing we can say about it.

The University of Nebraska at Kearney sits right in the middle of the city, and having a Division II program in your backyard is a genuinely nice thing.

Loper football, basketball, volleyball, wrestling...there's almost always something going on, and the games are the kind where you can get a good seat, park easily, and actually watch the sport rather than a screen. UNK athletics draws a community crowd, and it's a great way to feel connected to the city quickly.

It's one of those quality-of-life things that's easy to take for granted once you're here.

One thing people don't expect about Kearney: you can be in Denver or Chicago by noon.

Kearney Regional Airport offers daily nonstop jet service to both cities. It's a small airport in the best possible way: no two-hour early arrival, no sprawling terminals, no hunting for parking. You get there, you get on, you go.

For anyone with family elsewhere, clients to visit, or just the occasional need to be somewhere else, it's wildly convenient. Kearney is centrally located and well connected.
