⚡️Navigating the Storm Aftermath ⛈️ A Hail Damage Checklist⚡️
Thinking of everyone in our community after last night's wild hailstorm. I know many of you are waking up to significant damage, and it can be overwhelming.
This isn't about real estate; it's about helping our community recover. Here are some immediate steps to take if your home was affected.
Your Hail Damage Action Plan:
📸 1. Document EVERYTHING Before touching anything, take photos/videos of all damage (roof, siding, windows, A/C units). Use a ruler for scale next to the hail. You can't have too much proof for your claim.
📞 2. Call Your Insurance Company Report the damage immediately to start your claims process.
🛠️ 3. Prevent Further Damage Your policy requires you to mitigate further harm. This could mean tarping a broken window. Document these temporary fixes, too.
🛑 4. BEWARE of 'Storm Chasers' Be cautious of out-of-town companies knocking on your door. Stick with local, reputable professionals to ensure your warranty is honored.
✅ 5. Get Multiple LOCAL Quotes Always get 2-3 quotes from licensed and insured local contractors. Don't sign anything until you've vetted the company.
